In order to determine the optimal dosage and particle size of biochar in tobacco production, a field plot experiment is conducted to investigate the effects of the particle size of biochar and the amount of biochar added to fertilizers at 0.180, 0.125, 0.075 mm and 12%, 15%, 18%, respectively, on the economic and quality characteristics of tobacco. The results show that under the same particle size conditions, the first-class tobacco rate and average price of the treatment with 18% biochar addition are improved compared to the treatment with 12% and 15% addition, with increases of 16.8% and 0.4%, 21.8% and 3.6%, respectively. The total score of the entropy weight method comprehensive evaluation increased from 0.35 points for the treatment with 12% addition to 0.64 points for the treatment with 18% addition. Under the same addition amount, the particle size of biochar decreased from 0.180 mm to 0.075 mm, and the output value, the first-class tobacco rate, and average price of flue-cured tobacco gradually improved. Compared to the treatment with the addition of 0.180 mm, the treatment with the addition of 0.075 mm significantly improved the coordination of chemical components in the middle leaves, with an increase of 3.95 points. The comprehensive evaluation score of entropy weight method also increased from 0.26 points to 0.93 points. Both biochar particle size and dosage can significantly affect tobacco production within the variable gradient range of the experimental design. Properly increasing the amount of biochar and reducing its particle size is more conducive to promoting tobacco production.
