The caking of granular chemical fertilizers is recognized as one of the key issues affecting storage, transportation, and application efficiency. The primary mechanisms of fertilizer caking and its environmental influencing factors are outlined. The classification and material characteristics of fertilizer coating agents are introduced, and the practical application effects and performance testing methods of coating agents in anti-caking are discussed. The development trends of green coating technology are summarized, with its potential and challenges in environmentally friendly material development, multifunctional design, cost optimization, and ecological compatibility are analyzed. Future coating agent technology is expected to develop in more environmentally friendly, efficient, and intelligent directions. The integration of green chemistry with modern processes, the sustainable development of agricultural production will be promoted.
